Synaesthesia? Yes, please.

Synaesthesia? Yes, please. I like to imagine that the voices of Alan Rickman, Jeremy Irons, and David Bowie are molten down, ground to a fine powder and sold as medicine for chronic anhedonia.
Strange fascinations, fascinating me: Maggie Smith, theatre, film, and the performing arts in general. Interested in [almost] anything using voice as a vehicle.

So F*ing Depressing

One of the most fabulous women in acting history, known for her roles as Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in Love, Lady Catherine Debourgh, and many others, Dame Judi Dench has come out recently saying she is fighting impending blindness. She says in this article that she can’t even read scripts.

If she goes blind, it will be a sad day for the acting world and fans everywhere.

This is so sad. She has a combination of dry & wet macular degeneration, so there’s hope that there’s at least a part of it that’s treatable, but still…

I’m really happy that she has a positive attitude, thinking of alternatives and not giving up, and I hope that her eyesight improves (or at least doesn’t get worse).

Here’s a more comprehensive article.
